Richard "Joe" Noll, 39

Richard "Joe" Noll, 39, passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke brought on by complications resulting from a traumatic brain injury from a motor-vehicle accident in 1995.

Born April 28, 1971, in Martinsburg, he is the son of Vickie L. Marschner and his stepfather, Chris Marschner, of Hagerstown, and the late Lawrence Noll.

Joe resided at Rosa’s Care Home. He attended Easter Seals Adult Day program in Hagerstown.

Prior to his accident, Joe was a quality-control inspector at TFX Marine in Hagerstown.

Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman. After he was no longer able to participate in these hobbies, he continued his outdoor passions with the Blue Marble Diver group, which included him in its activities.


He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Gulf War with the 54 Engineer Battalion.

He was a graduate of Hedgesville High School and attended Hagerstown Community College.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his grandparents, William and Maridel Albright of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his sister, Sarah Bass, and brother, Gary Noll of Martinsburg; his aunts and uncles, Barbara Albright of Hagerstown, Ann and Steve Smallwood, Melissa and David Warner, Marcia Noll, and Jeff and Tonya Noll, all of Martinsburg. He also is survived by a number of cousins, including Adam and Justin Hofe of Philadelphia, Pa.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Vincent Noll; his grandmother, Betty Morris Butler; and his great-grandparents, Frieda and Clarence Butler.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Easter Seals Adult Day Program, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
