Edna Beatrice Hart Stickler died Friday, Dec. 17, at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro, Md., where she lived for the past seven years.


Born Dec. 3, 1913, Edna was the daughter of Bessie M. Hitzelberger Hart and Alvey G. Hart of Hagerstown.


A Washington County resident most of her life, she was a homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family and many friends. She is remembered for her warm spirit, love of people and gracious hospitality.


She and her late husband, Howard P. Stickler Sr., were founding members of Valley Grace Brethren Church and she was actively involved until she moved to Purcellville, Va., after her husband’s death.


She is survived by her children, Howard Stickler Jr., Judith Powers and Susan Yantis; grandchildren, Gale Stickler, Colleen King and Christina Yantis; great-grandchildren, Jessica Sichel, Katie Mickey, Sam King, and Sarah, Becky and Michael Will; and great-great-grandchildren, Ellisa, Taylor, Megan and Thomas Mickey, Rose Sichel and Seagan Will.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Valley Grace Brethren Church, 17310 Gay St., Hagerstown.


Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
