A St. Thomas, Pa., woman was killed Thursday when her car collided with a tractor-trailer in the 500 block of Shippensburg Road in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Rhonda S. Eberly, 41, was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital, Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said in a news release.

Cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m., when Eberly was traveling south on Shippensburg Road (Pa. 696) and failed to negotiate a turn during a snowstorm, the news release said. Eberly's 2003 Honda Accord fishtailed and slid into the path of the tractor-trailer, which struck the driver's side of her car.

Eberly was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:56 p.m., the coroner's office said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

The Newburg Fire Department and Shippensburg EMS assisted at the scene.
