Man with knife robs Hagerstown AC&T

 A man carrying a knife robbed an AC&T at 724 Frederick St., Wednesday night, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

The man entered the store, displayed the knife and demanded cash, according to Sgt. David Long.

The man then grabbed a cash drawer from behind a counter and fled the store with an undetermined amount of money, according to Long.

Hagerstown Police Department officers with the help of a K-9 unit responded but the man could not be found, Long said.

No one was hurt in the robbery, which was reported at 8:39 p.m., Long said.

The suspect was described as being black, heavy set, in his 30s and about 6-feet tall. He was wearing a dark jacket, tan pants and a light-colored knit cap, Long said.

Sheriff’s deputies respond to incidents

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following incidents, according to Lt. Mark Knight:

A customer at Hard Times Cafe on Massey Boulevard left without paying a $94 bill.
Change and other items were reported stolen from four vehicles at North Colonial Drive and Catawba Place.

Items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 18700 block of North Pointe Drive.
Damage to property was reported in the 10700 block of Bratton Court.
A soda machine was reported broken into at an Exxon Station in the 19300 block of Leitersburg Pike.
Tools and nine flashlights were reported stolen from River City Farm and Pet on Milestone Terrace.
Tools and a tool box were reported stolen following a burglary in the 17900 block of Gardenview Road.
A theft from a residence was reported in the 100 block of North Antietam Street.
A theft of a bracelet was reported in the 11400 block of Englewood Road.


Twelve concrete blankets were reported stolen at Harpers Ferry Road and Limekiln Road.

Tools were reported stolen from Pavestone on Hopewell Road.

Handbags were reported stolen from the Bon Ton in the Valley Mall.

A shed was reported broken into at Halfway Storage on Virginia Avenue.

Property stakes were reported damaged in the 10600 block of Crystal Falls Drive.

A residence was reported broken into in the 12300 block of Hanging Rock Road.

Miscellaneous clothes were stolen in a shoplifting incident at Sears in Valley Mall. An arrest was made.
