Dorothy Luray Shupp, 87, formerly of Clear Spring and a resident of Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md., passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Reeders.

Born July 28, 1923, in Conococheague, Md., she was the daughter of the late Francis Ridenour Snyder and Myrtle Trumpower Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Preston Shupp, in 2003.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Clear Spring, and a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Deanna Jean Mullendore and husband, John, of Clear Spring; four sisters, Mildred Holtzman of Mercersburg, Pa., Virginia Barnes and Ruby Miller, both of Williamsport, and Betty Myers of Boonsboro; two grandchildren, Leslie Ann Chaney and husband, Eric, of New Market, Md. and Joseph D. Mullendore and wife, Joanna, of Odenton, Md.; and one great-grandson, Lear S. Mullendore.


She was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi Bast and Thelma Marie Snyder; and two brothers, Richard Snyder and Guy Snyder.

Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Reformed Church, 14232 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Charles Mackley will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after 11 a.m.
