Washington County Democratic Central Committee elects new chair

The Washington County Democratic Central Committee has a new chairwoman.

Elizabeth Paul was chosen at the committee's Sept. 20 meeting.

She received the most votes among the nine people running for the central committee in the Sept. 14 primary.

Eight of the nine candidates won seats on the committee.

Paul replaces Patricia Heck, who was the Democratic chairwoman for four years.

Other officers selected Sept. 20 are:

o Larry Barron, vice chairman

o Jereme Leazier, secretary

o Ronnie Hooten, treasurer

o Claudia Martin, assistant treasurer


Other committee members are Ronald Kerns, Edythe Rickard and Blakeley A. Jackson.
