Heritage Academy rolls past Grace for MDCC win

Alex Cosner had two goals and an assist for Heritage Academy in a 9-2 Mason Dixon Christian Conference win over Grace Academy.

Mark Taggart and Soo Won Kim each had a goal and an assist, Josh Taggart, Bryce Boyd, Michael Donmoyer, Randy Wright and Aaron Clark also scored, Bryce Nigh, Chad Lowry and Tristan Prejean each had an assist and Christian Strickler had seven saves for the Eagles (6-3).

Jeremiah House and Camryn Steward each had a goal and Shuaixian Mu had 10 saves for the Knights.


North Hagerstown 5, Brunswick 0

Beth Wagner had three goals as North Hagerstown shut out Brunswick.

Sam Koterwas and Bri Steich also scored for the Hubs (3-4-1).

St. John's Catholic Prep 4, Saint James 1

SAINT JAMES -- Mary-Kate Afzali scored on an assist by Nikki Jenkinson for Saint James in a loss to St. John's Catholic Prep.


Rose Chuimento had 15 saves for the Saints (3-4).


Hancock 3, Paw Paw 0

PAW PAW, W.Va. -- Tiffany Younker had 17 service points, six aces and nine assists to lead Hancock in a 25-21, 25-14, 25-12 sweep of Paw-Paw.

Maureen Leavy had 13 kills, Courtney Golden had 16 assists and Lyndsay Himes had 13 service points and six aces for the Panthers (5-1).

Kara Stamper had 21 service points, five aces, 15 kills, four block and five digs to lead Heritage Academy in a 25-13, 25-12, 25-21 sweep of Grace Academy.

Rachel Clarke had nine service points and five kills for the Eagles (9-0).

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Merrissa Mead had 23 digs for Berkeley Springs in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 loss to Martinsburg.

Erin Close had 15 digs and Toni Davision had five service points for the Indians.
