Fulton County FFA members among top winners at dairy show

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- FFA members from Fulton County were among the top winners of the Dairy Judging Forum this past week at the 47th All-American Dairy Show.

Justin Fogal of the Warfordsburg, Pa., FFA won top honors as the highest-scoring FFA competitor, according to a press release from show officials.

Warfordsburg's Zachary Strait won second place.

Justin Fogal, along with team members Zack Arentz, Michael Fogal and Bradley Carbaugh, were named first-place team in the FFA division.

Second place went to Jefferson FFA of West Virginia with team members Robert Bane, Keira Osbourn, Amber Hite and Jeremy Creamer, officials said.


The Chambersburg, Pa., Faust FFA team placed sixth.

In the individual competition, officials said, other area FFA members scoring high included Richard Laughlin of the Shippensburg, Pa., chapter, third place; Keira Osbourn of the Jefferson chapter, fourth place; and Zack Arentz of the Warfordsburg chapter, eighth place.

More than 270 4-H and FFA youth competed in last Tuesday's forum.

Eileen Gress of Wayne County, Pa., 4-H won the 4-H division.

Winning the 4-H team division was the Perry County, Pa., 4-H Dairy Club with members Amber Gabel and Tori Nailor, who were second- and third-place individuals, respectively.

Participants individually placed five classes of dairy cows and took a written examination on basic dairy knowledge.
