Man stabbed at MCI-H

Rescue crews responded to the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown on Sunday night for a man who was stabbed multiple times in the back, according to a 911 dispatcher.

The victim, who is 25 years old, suffered priority-one, category-A injuries, which are the most serious, the dispatcher said. Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue and the Washington County Division of Emergency Services responded to the prison and the man was taken to Washington County Hospital for treatment, the dispatcher said.

Prison officials reported the stabbing at 9:03 p.m., the dispatcher said.

State correctional officials could not be reached Sunday night for more details.

MCI-H is a medium-security correctional facility at 18601 Roxbury Road, off of Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown.
