Meet the Dean Night was hosted Sept. 13 by the Frostburg State University departments offering programs at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown.

Held in the USM-H atrium, Frostburg faculty from the main campus and USM-H gathered for an informal reception to meet students.

Traveling from Frostburg were Cindy Herzog, associate dean, College of Liberal Studies and Sciences; Clarence Golden, associate dean, College of Education; Ahmad Tootoonchi, dean, College of Business; and Michael Monahan, department chair, College of Business.

They were joined by the Hagerstown faculty: Martha Mattare, director, FSU at USM-H business program; John Stoothoff, masters of arts in teaching program coordinator; Christopher Masciocchi, psychology program coordinator; and Gary Austen, liberal studies and sociology adviser.

"Our goal with Meet the Dean Night is to foster a sense of community with the College of Business and to meet the leaders of the college - people our students don't get to see very often," Mattare said.

"It is also the students' opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions to the dean.

"The students love it; the deans and department chairs love it!"

Refreshments were served, and raffle prizes were awarded, resulting in a fun evening to kick off the new semester.
