Breast Cancer Awareness Day
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Local organizations will celebrate West Virginia Breast Cancer Awareness Day Monday, Oct. 4, with an educational program and wreath-hanging ceremony designed to increase awareness and detection of the disease.
The free program will begin at noon at War Memorial Hospital, 109 War Memorial Drive, and include a light lunch for participants.
Dr. Tamara Spriggs from Community Physicians of War Memorial Hospital will be the guest speaker. Breast cancer screening guidelines and breast cancer educational materials will be available to participants.
Following the program and luncheon, a wreath-hanging ceremony will occur at the Morgan County Courthouse, 202 Fairfax St. The wreath, which will be displayed throughout October, will serve as a reminder that all women are at risk for breast cancer.
