Shepherd's Dobratz earns WVIAC weekly honor again

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University kicker/punter Eric Dobratz was named the WVIAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second straight week.

In the Rams' 46-17 win over Seton Hill on Saturday, Dobratz went 5-for-5 on point after attempts and 1-for-1 in field goals, booting a 38-yarder. He also averaged 44.7 yards per punt.

Spinnler second at Hill Climb

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Mike Spinnler, 51, of Hagerstown, placed second in the South Mountain Hill Climb on Sunday.

Spinnler, who rides for Antietam Velo Club/Team Hagerstown-Washington County Tourism, covered the 7.3-mile course, which has more than 1,300 feet of elevation gain, in 26 minutes, 8 seconds.

Micah Engle, 17, of Dillsburg, Pa., won the race in 26:04.

Clinics for wrestling officials

The MPSSAA and WVSSAC are set to conduct the required State Wrestling Rules Interpretation Clinics for returning wrestling officials and new applicants.

The MPSSAA clinic will be held at South Hagerstown High School on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

The WVSSAC will be held at Hedgesville High School on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
