FROSTBURG, Md. - Frostburg State University student Caroline Shedd will perform her senior vocal recital Sunday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU's Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Shedd will perform several pieces from Henry Purcell, George Frideric Handel, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Christoph Willibald von Gluck, Irving Fine, Frank Wildhorn and Stephen Schwartz.

Shedd is a mezzo soprano who expects to graduate in May with a music degree, focusing on vocal performance, and a minor in French.

She hopes to be a cruise ship performer.

She graduated from Middletown High School in 2006 and is the daughter of Tommy and Donna Shedd of Middletown, Md.




LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell University conferred bachelor's and master's degrees to the following area students who completed their graduation requirements during the spring semester:

Mark A. Daniel of Frederick, Md., the son of Kenneth and Barbara Daniel of Frederick, cum laude with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

Stephanie E. Quinn of Middletown, Md., the daughter of John and Melinda Quinn of Middletown, summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in English - creative writing and history and departmental honors in English.

Elizabeth M. Springer of Chambersburg, Pa., the daughter of Walter and Kathleen Springer of Chambersburg, bachelor of science in chemistry.

Dale E. Statler of Chambersburg, the son of Duane and Janice Statler of Chambersburg, magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in civil engineering and a bachelor of management for engineers and departmental honors in civil engineering. Statler received the Jai B. Kim Prize in civil and environmental engineering.

Anne E. Strader of Braddock Heights, Md., the daughter of Clifton and Virginia Strader of Braddock Heights, cum laude with a bachelor of science in geology and departmental honors in geology.

Kristen E. Willwerth of Chambersburg, the daughter of Gerald Willwerth and Jayne Keller of Chambersburg, cum laude with a bachelor of science in business adminstration in management.

Addison Z. Yee of Frederick, Md. the son of John and Deborah Yee of Frederick, cum laude with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.
