September 24, 2010

THURMONT, Md. --People traveling the four miles of Md. 77 within the boundaries of Catoctin Mountain Park might experience periodic delays from Monday at 8 a.m. through Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m., according to a park press release.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane while tree contractors remove hazardous and standing dead trees near the shoulder of the road and trim large overhanging dead limbs, according to the release. The work is performed annually to ensure the safety of visitors traveling through the park.

Md. 77 will remain open during the work and delays are expected to be relatively minor, according to the release.
