Elsie Paige Jackson-Doleman, 95, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md.

Born Jan. 15, 1915, in Luray, Va., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Emma V. Jackson.

She was the wife of 65 years to Isaac C. Doleman, whom she married Jan. 13, 1945.

Elsie graduated from North Street School in Hagerstown, and was employed by the Washington County Board of Education with more than 10 years of service.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, where she served as a communion steward and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Deborah Chapter 12, Order of the Eastern Star, the Golden Circle and the West Hagerstown Lioness Club.

In addition to her husband, Elsie is survived by two daughters, Gwyneth Paige Russ of Oxon Hill, Md., and Virginia Ann Thomas and her husband, Ronald, of Hagerstown.


Elsie was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 155 N. Jonathan St., Hagerstown. Her pastor, the Rev. Sharon Gibson, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
