Woman accused of heroin possession says she was looking for lighter
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Martinsburg woman accused of heroin possession told police on Monday that she was searching for a lighter that she lost in a ditch along a road in Falling Waters, W.Va., when questioned about her activities there, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.
April Lynn McDaniel, 25, of 904 Gosling Marsh Road, was arraigned Monday by Magistrate Jim Humphrey on one count of possession of a controlled substance, according to court records.
West Virginia State Police Trooper J.A. Donohue, who responded to Parry Drive Monday about 8:30 a.m. to investigate a drug-activity complaint, found McDaniel walking in a ditch on the side of the road, according to court records.
