Chambersburg wins titles

NEWVILLE, Pa. -- Chambersburg won team titles in the 15th annual Bull Dog Invitational at Big Spring on Saturday.

Led by Daniel Patty's third-place finish in 16:48.50, the Chambersburg boys won with 59 team points, well ahead of Northern York.

Waynesboro finished ninth with 281 points and was led by Klye Phillips' fourth-place time of 16:50.12.

Greencastle was 14th (339), Mercersburg Academy was 17th (450) and James Buchanan was 18th (472).

The Chambersburg girls, led by McKenzie Doyle's fourth-place finish in 20:45.39, ended with 41 team points.

MacKenzie Riford, of Mercersburg Academy, took first place in the 5K run in 20:30.92.

North Hagerstown finished 5th with 203 points, led by Emily Simmons' 21:37.72.

Greencastle finished 7th at 204 with Nikki Garns finishing fifth and Lauren Powers finishing sixth.

Blue Storm second

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Mercersburg Academy finished second in the State College Invitational with 13 team points. State College won with 16 points.

Nikki Wolny won the No. 1 singles title for the second straight year. Mercersburg also picked up second-place finishes in three doubles events.


Shepherd 2, WVU Tech 1

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Griffin Frazier and Robel Desta scored goals in the first half to lead the Rams past WVU Tech.

Shepherd (3-3) held a 21-10 advantage in shots and goalkeeper Edgar Lopez had five saves.
