Lula Mae Palmer, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sept. 14, 2010, as the result of an accident. She was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for 24 years and loved talking about Jehovah's kingdom. She loved the outdoors, particularly fishing, and she loved to travel. She enjoyed cooking for everybody and freely shared her preparations with friends and neighbors.

She was the daughter of the late Frank Melvin Spigler Sr. and Ethel Bell Kreps Spigler.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters, Elizabeth Palmer, Kathleen Gregg and twin Stella Palmer; and three brothers, Bailey Spigler, John (Hoogie) Spigler and George Spigler.

Surviving sisters are Noreen (Spig) Palmer of Maugansville, Md., Gladys Gooding and her husband Bill Gooding, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Edith Mills of Maine. Surviving brother is Frank Melvin Spigler Jr. of Florida.

Surviving daughters are Joyce Oliver, Shirley Fox and husband Lanny Fox Sr., Suzanne Kipe and husband Ron Kipe, all of Hagerstown, Md.; and one son, Paul Palmer Jr. and his wife Casey Palmer, of Florida.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lanny Fox Jr. and wife Cindy Fox, Salena Eichelberger and husband Rich Eichelberger, John Carbaugh, Jimmy Carbaugh and John Day; 10 great-grandchildren, Bobby and Andrea Fox, Brian and Katelyn Eichelberger, Sarah and Heather Carbaugh, Craig Carbaugh, and John, Mark and Savannah Day; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 30 Nottingham Road, Hagerstown, Md., with Mark Hutzell officiating.
