Bus trip

A local theater group is planning a coach bus trip to see Cirque du Soleil's "Illumination" at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, on Saturday, Oct. 9, for the matinee performance. The bus will leave from the McDonald's at the Sharpsburg Pike exit, off Interstate 70. For information, call Clint Hillman at 304-668-5418.

Vendors sought

CASCADE - The Fort Ritchie Community Center will hold its annual fall craft bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. Vendors spaces are available for $25 a space. For information, call Bev at 301-241-5085.

Hospice volunteers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lutheran Home Care & Hospice Inc. is offering free hospice volunteer training for people who would like to visit and provide support to local clients and families coping with terminal illness. Sessions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 12, 19 and 26, at Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive. Call Tammy Hawbaker at 717-217-3520.

Make-A-Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic seeks wish-granting volunteers in Western Maryland. Volunteers work in teams of two to meet with wish families, help children discover their most heartfelt wishes and enhance the wish experience. Must be 21 years of age, clear a background check and take a training class. The next training will be Saturday, Oct. 2. Bilingual volunteers especially Spanish/English are also needed.
