WASHINGTON COUNTY GAMES



Middletown Knights (1-1) at Boonsboro Warriors (1-1)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Middletown leads, 29-2.

Last meeting: 2009 -- Middletown, 30-25.

Last week: The Knights lost to Linganore, 24-6. ... The Warriors lost to South Carroll, 44-0.

Notes: The Knights have won the last 11 meetings. ... Boonsboro's only wins in the series came in 1993 and 1994, the two years the Warriors played in the state final. ... The Knights were limited to 83 total yards in their loss to Linganore. They ran just 13 plays in the first half for 15 yards. ... Hunter Lumley scored the Knights' only touchdown on a 7-yard run. ... The Warriors surrendered 218 yards in the first half and 274 total yards in the loss to South Carroll. ... Boonsboro gained just four first downs and was only in South Carroll territory for five plays in the game.

North Hagerstown Hubs (1-1) at Loch Raven Raiders (0-2)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: North Hagerstown leads, 1-0.

Last meeting: 2009 -- North Hagerstown, 66-12.

Last week: The Hubs beat Frederick, 41-19. ... The Raiders lost to Dulaney, 31-12.

Notes: The Hubs rolled up 486 yards against Frederick, with all but 5 yards coming on the ground. ... Anthony Winter (210 yards, 3 TDs), Rico Johnson (123 yards, TD) and Trey Anderson (117 yards, 2 TDs) all topped the 100-yard rushing mark for North. ... The Hubs are trying to win consecutive games for just the third time in three seasons.

Next week: North East at North Hagerstown; Dundalk at Loch Raven.

South Hagerstown Rebels (1-1) at Catoctin Cougars (2-0)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Catoctin leads, 10-9.

Last meeting: 2009 -- Catoctin, 43-8.

Last week: The Rebels lost to Urbana, 55-19. ... The Cougars beat North Carroll, 52-14.

Notes: The 55 points were the most allowed by a Rebels team since Berkeley Springs and Linganore scored 56 and 58 on them in back-to-back weeks in 2007. ... Even in a lopsided loss, the Rebels had decent offensive numbers. They gained 276 total yards, including 245 on the ground. ... Rebels RB Nick Stubbs ran for 204 yards, including TD runs of 73 and 60 yards. ... Urbana nearly had a perfect 50-50 balance offensively, running for 270 yards and passing for 276. ... The Cougars have won the last three games in the series and five of the last six. ... Catoctin, the defending Maryland Class 1A champion, has won 16 straight games. The Cougars' last loss was in the 2008 state semifinals against Dunbar.

Smithsburg Leopards (1-1) at South Carroll Cavaliers (2-0)

Series: South Carroll leads, 1-0.

Last meeting: 2009 -- South Carroll, 14-12.

Last week: The Leopards lost to Walkersville, 46-7. ... The Cavaliers beat Boonsboro, 44-0.

Notes: The Leopards hope to improve on their rushing from last week, when they managed just 32 yards on 30 carries. ... Justin Scott and Cullan Ganley hooked up on four completions, including a touchdown. ... South Carroll boasts a strong passing game led by QB Anthony Nardo, who completed 15 of 20 for 218 yards and five TDs against Boonsboro.

Next week: Smithsburg at South Hagerstown; North Carroll at South Carroll.

Poolesville Falcons (0-2) at Williamsport Wildcats (0-2)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Series: Williamsport leads, 1-0.

Last meeting: 2009 -- Williamsport, 20-6.

Last week: The Falcons lost to Rockville, 17-6. ... The Wildcats lost to Northern Garrett, 21-16.

Notes: The Falcons have scored just eight points in their first two games of the season. ... The Wildcats dug themselves a 15-0 hole against Northern Garrett, but rallied to take a 16-15 lead in the fourth quarter before giving up the game-winning touchdown pass with 27 seconds left. ... Tyler Wise ran for 72 yards and passed for 36 for Williamsport. ... Eight of the Wildcats' last 12 games have been decided by seven points or fewer. The Wildcats are 3-5 in those eight games.

Next week: Poolesville at Einstein; Brunswick at Williamsport.

TRI-STATE GAMES



Jefferson Cougars (0-3) at Urbana Hawks (2-0)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Last meeting: 2009 -- Urbana, 24-21.

Last week: The Cougars lost to Broad Run, 42-0. ... The Hawks beat South Hagerstown, 55-19.

Next week: Jefferson at Sherando; Urbana at Lackey.

Briar Woods Falcons (2-1) at Martinsburg Bulldogs (3-0)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Last meeting: 2009 -- Martinsburg, 25-14.

Last week: The Falcons beat Handley, 27-0. ... The Bulldogs beat Thomas Johnson, 11-7.
