SHHS yearbook update
South Hagerstown High School has the summer supplement for the 2009-10 "Experience Change" yearbook on hand.
The supplement can be picked up at the school.
Spaghetti dinner
A spaghetti dinner benefiting Habitat for Humanity will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Saturday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the church hall. Tickets cost $7.50 for adults, $5 for those younger than 10 and free for those younger than 3. Carry-out dinners will be available for $7.50.
The church is at 17630 Virginia Ave. in Halfway.
The event will help raise funds to help the Apostles Build program in Hagerstown. Tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, call the parish office at 301-797-9445.
Dance and fly-in
The Hagerstown Aviation Museum will host the fourth annual 1940s Big Band Dance on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Hagerstown Regional Airport Terminal along Showalter Road.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a patriotic fly-over of 1940s airplanes, and dancing from 8 to 11 p.m. The dance will feature a variety of 1940s music performed by the Martinsburg (W.Va.) Big Band, provided through the financial contribution of the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Dressing in 1940s clothing is encouraged, but optional. Food and refreshments are included in the ticket price, and a cash bar is available. Tickets cost $25 each.

The Big Band Dance will be held the same weekend as the annual Hagerstown fly-in, scheduled for Sept. 25 and 26. The Hagerstown Aviation Museum will have displays at the event, featuring aircraft and items from the museum's collection.
