MARTINSBURG, W.Va. --More than 40 Hedgesville High School students avoided injury after the school bus they were riding on Thursday afternoon collided with a car at the intersection of U.S. 11 and Joshua Drive, police and school officials said.

The driver of the car was taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg after the accident happened about 3 p.m., according to West Virginia State Police Trooper M.D. Gillmore and school officials.

The driver of bus No. 155 was not injured in the crash, said Berkeley County Schools Communications Director Jaimee Borger. There were 41 students on the bus, Borger said.
