Hagerstown men face handgun charges after bar incident

September 15, 2010

Two Hagerstown men have been charged with handgun violations after an incident early Wednesday at a Salem Avenue bar, the Hagerstown Police Department said in a press release.

Tausama Yakahia Sprinkle, 37, of 244 Winter St., and Norman Chavez Frazier, 23, of 100 Buena Vista Ave., each was charged with one count of possession of a handgun and felon in possession of a handgun.

The release said Hagerstown Police officers and agents from the Washington County Narcotics Task Force were looking for a wanted subject at Shaff's Bar at 422 Salem Ave. when they went to the rear patio area. It was there, police alleged, that they saw Sprinkle and Frazier putting handguns on the ground.

Police found a loaded 9 mm handgun and a loaded .45-caliber handgun, the release said.
