Cascade Elementary School

From the principal's desk:

"We are off to a great start! It was delightful to meet so many of you; at back to school night. This year we are focusing on motivating students to work to their maximum potential! I ask that you continue to monitor homework and ask your child about his or her friends at school. Let your child see we are working together."

Smithsburg Middle School

From the principal's desk:

"By this point, you and your child should have received authorization codes to access Edline.

"Please ensure you are monitoring the combined calendar (all homework and activities) and class grades.

"The Refrigerator Copy outlining important dates and access information should provide all necessary information; if the copy mailed to you has been misplaced, stop by the main office for additional copies.

"I truly hope all of you had an amazing summer with plenty of quality friend and family time. The students and staff are committed to rising to the next challenge and it is my hope you will join us in this endeavor. If applicable, I hope you take time to celebrate any increased performances in your child; they worked so hard this past year and have earned this recognition. I look forward to sharing our gains with you on Meet the Teacher Night. Thanks for all of your efforts, high expectations and commitment to your child's success."

- Mr. Kuhaneck, principal
