One person taken to hospital after crash west of Boonsboro

One person was taken to Washington County Hospital after a two-vehicle collision west of Boonsboro on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Mill Point Road and Alternate U.S. 40, a Maryland State Police trooper said.

The trooper said a sport-utility vehicle ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck a pickup truck at about 10 a.m. The pickup driver, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the trooper said.

The pickup came to rest after it struck a tree, the trooper said. The SUV came to rest when it ran into a house on Mill Point Road.

The name of the SUV driver was not released.
