Human Services Expo to be held Thursday at Franklin Fire Hall



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. --The Franklin County Community Forum's Human Services Expo will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Franklin Fire Hall, 158 W. King St. in Chambersburg.

The annual expo consists of representatives from human-services agencies and companies who can help Franklin County residents.

The event is open to the general public, students and human-services workers, and will feature door prizes and giveaways.

Community members invited to 'Fix JB Sports' reception



MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- The James Buchanan Athletic Booster Association is inviting community members to a "Fix JB Sports" capital campaign community reception being held Friday at 6 p.m. in the James Buchanan Middle School cafeteria.

Attendees will hear about Fix JB Sports projects, capital campaign update and ways they can help. Light refreshments will be served.

The $1.9 million Fix JB Sports capital campaign is raising funds to renovate and upgrade the aging athletic facilities at James Buchanan High School, including the tennis courts, pool area, expanded parking for the stadium, stadium restrooms and concession area, and synthetic turf for the stadium field.

Reservations are appreciated but not required.

The reception will end prior to the 7 p.m. start of the home varsity football game.
