Golf tournament for South High a success



The 22nd annual Allen K. Graham Golf Tournament was held recently at Beaver Creek Country Club.

This year, nearly 60 golfers enjoyed a day of fun and golf to raise money for the Allen K. Graham (class of 1974) Scholarship fund.

Since 1994, the annual scholarship has been given to athletes at South Hagerstown High School. To date, more than $20,000 in scholarships has been awarded. Many thanks to those who make this possible.

Yearbook supplement



South Hagerstown High School has the summer supplement for the 2009-10 "Experience Change" yearbook on hand. The supplement can be picked up at the school.

Autumn arts festival planned in City Park



The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will hold its fourth annual Autumn Arts Festival in the Park on Saturday and Sunday.

The festival is held in collaboration with Jonathan Hager House and Museum, Hagerstown Railroad Museum and Mansion House Art Center.

Activities are scheduled for each site and throughout City Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. All Washington County Museum of Fine Arts activities take place in the Kaylor Lakeside Garden and in the Bowman Concert Gallery.

Kickathon planned



Jimmy's White Tiger Martial Arts will hold its second annual Kickathon for Breast Cancer on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.

The martial-arts center is in the South End Shopping Center.

In addition to the kickathon, an open house will be held with Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Avon, Tastefully Simple and Mary Kay consultants on hand.

Hagerstown Lions Club



Tuesday - Boyd Michael, assistant superintendent of schools for Washington County Public Schools, will talk about the new school year.

Basket bingo



The Funkstown Lions Club will hold its basket bingo Sunday at Funkstown Fire Hall. There will be 25 games, including five specials. Tip jars, raffles and door prizes will be available.

Doors open at 1 p.m. and the first game starts at 2 p.m. Food will be available. Tickets cost $20. This event is for adults only.

Travelogue series



The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown's travelogue series starts Wednesday at South Hagerstown High School at 7:30 p.m.

This week, John Holod and Jodie Ginter will present "The Great Rocky Mountain RV Adventure."

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
