Janice Lee (Phleeger) Lushbaugh, 91, of Funkstown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 21, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Pauline (Osborne) Phleeger.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Leonard Alvin "Pat" Lushbaugh, who passed away June 1, 2010.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, and was also on the church council and choir. Janice was also the president of the Washington County Council of PTAs.

Janice had worked as a homemaker, and also owned and operated The Office Equipment Company in Hagerstown with her husband for 50 years.

Janice is survived by a daughter, Patrice L. "Patti" Simbulan and husband, Dante, of Burke, Va.; a son, Curtis J. Lushbaugh and wife, Sondra, of Funkstown; two granddaughters, Alicia Hinkle and Holly Lushbaugh; a brother, Jack Phleeger of Hagerstown; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 18 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 24 E. Baltimore St., Funkstown, with the Rev. Mike Louia officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, and one hour before the service at the church.
