Minors cited for alcohol violations

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Seven minors were cited for purchase, consumption and possession of liquor, malt or brewed beverages while younger than 21 during police patrol Friday and Saturday at Shippensburg University and the surrounding area, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

One individual was cited for disorderly conduct, police said.

The incidents occurred between 10:35 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Alcohol a factor in crash, police say

SCOTLAND, Pa. -- A single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Walker and Ragged Edge roads early Sunday was related to drunken driving, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

A Pennsylvania woman was traveling east on Walker Road about 12:26 a.m. when she failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a tree, state police said.

The woman was under the influence of alcohol and prescription medications, state police said.

The woman was not identified because it was not clear if she had been charged Sunday night.


Camera, TV, tools taken in burglary

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- A hunting camera, a Sony flat-screen television and a Sears toolbox containing several tools were stolen during a burglary at a house in the 9000 block of Rabbit Road, Pennsylvania State Police said Sunday.

The burglary occurred Friday or Saturday, state police said.

Franklin County Department of Emergency Services

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- The Franklin County Department of Emergency Services handled the following calls, according to spokesman Dave Donohue:

o On Saturday at 11 p.m., a motorcycle crash occurred at 969 S. Fourth St. in Chambersburg.

o On Saturday at 11:27 p.m., a vehicle fire occurred at 377 Valley Drive in Greene Township.
