Little League event

Maugansville Little League's recognition event and voting for the 2010-11 board of directors will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the UAW Union Hall on Maugans Avenue.

Anyone interested in serving on the board for the upcoming season can call Kelly Colbert at 301-992-4904.

Golf tournament

Maugansville Little League will hold its second annual golf tournament Saturday, Oct. 9, at Greencastle Greens Golf Course.

The format will be a four-person scramble. The event costs $65. The tournament will be limited to the first 27 foursomes.

Vishay Angstrohm Precision gathering

Former employees of Vishay Angstrohm Precision, also known as Ward Leonard, will meet Thursday, Sept. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Railroad Junction 808 restaurant on Virginia Avenue.

Try church again

Maugansville Bible Brethren Church will participate in Back to Church Sunday, a national movement of churches to encourage people to rediscover church and try it again.

Church concert

Mount Zion Church, at 14336 Greencastle Pike in Cearfoss, will host a concert by Daystar, a gospel singing group, Sunday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served. A goodwill offering will be collected for the group during a short intermission. If you would like to make a contribution for the cemetery maintenance, a basket will be placed in the front of the church. The public is invited.
