Make-A-Wish volunteers sought in region

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic is seeking wish-granting volunteers in Western Maryland.

Volunteers must be 21 years old, clear a background check and attend a training class.

The next training will be Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Hagerstown area. No site was given.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Volunteers work in teams of two to meet with families.

Bilingual volunteers (especially Spanish/English) are also needed.
