CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Jeffrey E. Miles Sr. is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Franklin County Court on a charge of criminal homicide stemming from the April 3 stabbing death of a Hagerstown woman.

Miles, 47, of State Line, Pa., will be arraigned before Judge Douglas Herman at 1 p.m., Franklin County (Pa.) District Attorney Matthew Fogal said Friday.

On April 6, Pennsylvania State Police found the body of Kristy Dawn Hoke, 29, in the woods off Ninth Street in the Borough of Waynesboro. The district attorney's office has filed paperwork necessary to seek the death penalty against Miles.

Miles appeared before the judge Sept. 1 for arraignment. However, Herman said he wanted to reschedule it for a day when he had more time due to the seriousness of the case.

At full arraignment, Herman said he'd explain the charge, the effects of the notice of aggravating circumstances filed by the district attorney's office, the defendant's rights to file motions and the timeline for how the case would continue. Miles also will enter a plea.

Police said previously that information gathered during the investigation into Hoke's death led them to discover human remains on a farm at the line dividing Antrim and Washington townships in southern Franklin County. Those skeletal remains were identified as Waynesboro's Angie L. Daley, who was reported missing in 1995 when she was 17.

No one has been criminally charged in Daley's death.
