Last week: The Warriors beat Owings Mills, 40-18. ... The Cavaliers beat FSK, 53-7.

Notes: The Warriors have won three straight season openers and five of the last six. ... Justin Jardeleza carried the ball 10 times for 100 yards and two TDs for the Warriors. ... Senior back Ben McCarty scored twice and had two interceptions to lead the Cavaliers over Francis Scott Key.

Clear Spring Blazers (0-1)at East Hardy Cougars (1-1)

Notes: Manchester Valley's win over the Blazers last week was the first for that program, now in its second varsity season. ... The Blazers couldn't get their running game going last week, gaining just 36 yards on the ground. Mike Etzel finished with 60 rushing yards. ... Adam Mellott threw for 217 yards and a touchdown. ... The Cougars avoided the shutout last week against Bath County, scoring in the final five minutes of the game. ... East Hardy beat Rappahannock County 46-6 two weeks ago in its season opener. The Blazers face Rappahannock on Oct. 8.

The Panthers posted their first shutout in nearly three years last week. Their last shutout was Sept. 20, 2007: An 18-0 win over Clear Spring. ... Eli Souders and Tanner Dobrzanski scored a pair of touchdowns each and quarterback Garrett Wiles ran for one score. ... Hancock held Rappahannock to 119 yards of offense. ... The Saints have won four straight season openers. ... The Saints cruised past Options Charter, a team playing its first varsity game. Saint James led 45-0 and held OCS to minus-24 yards in the first half. ... Mike Townes ran for three TDs and finished with 53 yards on just six carries.

Receiver-turned-quarterback Jalen Gee made his first start and directed a scoring drive of 80 yards to give Frederick a 12-6 lead late in the fourth quarter. ... The Hubs had very little going offensively against TJ, managing just 110 yards, all of it on the ground. ... North's two quarterbacks -- Steve Coccodrilli and J.T. Root -- combined to go 0 for 7 passing with two INTs. ... Rico Johnson's 7-yard TD run tied the game at 7 in the first quarter, but TJ returned the ensuing kickoff for a TD and never looked back.
