HCC to host annual Constitution Day event Sept. 14

September 09, 2010

Hagerstown Community College will host its annual Constitution Day event Tuesday, Sept. 14, beginning at 11:30 a.m., in the Student Center.

The event will feature local author Linda Heinrich and her husband, Brian.

They will speak about her recently self-published book, "Jason's Helmet," which tells the story of her uncle, Jason Barron, who died during World War II at 23.

According to Spring Ward, associate professor of history and political science, who organized the event, Heinrich was chosen to speak because her story highlights the values of patriotism and sacrifice, which are still evolving in today's society.

This event is free and open to the public.

For more information, contact Ward at 301-790-2800, ext. 409, or e-mail stward@hagerstowncc.edu">stward@hagerstowncc.edu.
