HCC offering workshops on writing

Hagerstown Community College's Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering writing workshops geared toward aiding students in writing, publishing and improving basic sentence structure and grammar.

One-day workshops include "How to Publish Your Book" Wednesday, Sept. 22; "Creating Fictional Worlds: Fantasy, Historical, Whimsical or Contemporary," Wednesday, Oct. 20; "Creating Characters I: Build Fictional Characters From Personal Experience," Wednesday, Oct. 27; "Creating Characters II: Borrow From Psychology to Develop Fictional Characters," Wednesday, Nov. 10; "Creating Characters III: Interview Your Character for Back Story," Wednesday, Dec. 1; and "Sentence-Level Revision Techniques," Wednesday, Dec. 15.

All courses are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. at HCC's Valley Mall Center.
