Maryland Theatre anniversary scavenger hunt under way

The City of Hagerstown has launched a scavenger hunt to celebrate the 95th anniversary of The Maryland Theatre.

The Scavenger Hunt began Wednesday and runs through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17.

Scavenger Hunt participants can pick up official forms at the Visitors Center at 6 N. Potomac St., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., the city said in a prepared release.

Participants also can download the form by clicking on the 'PDF' icon to the right of this story.

Participants will be directed to businesses in Hagerstown's City Center to find answers to trivia questions celebrating the history of The Maryland Theatre.

Completed forms should be returned to the Visitors Center before 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, the release says.

Scavenger Hunt forms with all questions answered correctly will be entered to win a prize package courtesy of the City of Hagerstown and the theater.


The prize package includes four tickets to "The Best of Broadway" at The Maryland Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 24 and $100 in City Center Dollars.

Participating businesses include: Anderson Photographs, By Grace, Carol & Company, City Hall, Elevations Salon, The Gourmet Goat, L&L Classic Clothing, Laila's Kitchen, Lena's of Hagerstown, The Potomac Bead Company, R. Bruce Carson Jewelers, Rainbow Connection, Rocky's Pizza Caf Napoli, The Rhubarb House, Skyline coffee, Spirit of the Lotus Tea Co., Uncle Louie G's, The Visitors Center and The Washington County Arts Council.
