Junior basketball meeting

The Hagerstown Junior Basketball League will hold its first meeting for the upcoming 2010-2011 season at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at VFW Post 1936 at the East Washington Building in Hagerstown.

All coaches and elected officers are encouraged to attend as registration and tryout dates will be presented and other items will be addressed before the season starts.

Youth cross country meets

The USATF Region III Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships for ages 8-18 will be held at Williamsport High School on Nov. 20.

Athletes can qualify for the region championships at the Mountain Express club's open meet Oct. 31 at Smithsburg High School.

The Mountain Express will hold cross country practices, open to all youths, this fall on Wednesdays at Hagerstown Community College from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 15.
