SMITHSBURG -- Sara Rishell had 17 kills and five blocks, while Taylor Belella gave out 25 assists to lead Smithsburg to a season-opening 25-11, 25-11, 25-20 victory over South Carroll on Tuesday.

Danielle Hudson had 20 points and nine aces and Danielle Beaver had five kills for the Leopards (1-0).

Before the match, Smithsburg honored Belella for collecting the 1,000th assist of her career during the first game of last season's state championship match.

North Hagerstown 3, Westminster 0

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Akilah McCall had 14 kills and Brynne Kirsch added 29 assists for North Hagerstown, which opened its season with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-19 win over Westminster.

Peyton Wallach recorded seven kills and four blocks in the win for the Hubs (1-0).

Williamsport 3, Manchester Valley 0

WILLIAMSPORT -- Stacey Christy led Williamsport with 14 kills and five aces as the Wildcats swept Manchester Valley, 25-7, 25-15, 25-15 in its season opener.

Summer Neff had five aces and 17 assists, Trish Leigh added 15 digs and Sam Kelly had six kills for Williamsport (1-0).

Clear Spring 3, Linganore 0

IJAMSVILLE, Md. -- Lily Pinkham had 10 service points, six kills and 24 digs for Clear Spring, which swept Linganore 25-15, 25-20, 25-21.

Sarah Elwood had 18 digs, Megan Micco added nine assists and Morgan Purdham had three blocks for the Blazers (1-0).

FSK 3, Boonsboro 0

UNION BRIDGE, Md. -- Tiffany Rohrer had 16 digs, Amber Myers added 10 digs and Aurelie King had four kills for Boonsboro, which fell to Francis Scott Key 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.

Middletown 3, South Hagerstown 0

MIDDLETOWN, Md. -- Victoria Pearl had eight assists, Brianna Burnett had five blocks and Sara England added three kills for South Hagerstown (0-1) in its 25-9, 25-11, 25-23 season-opening loss to Middletown.

JV: Middletown, 2-0.

Hancock 3, Goretti 1

HANCOCK -- Lyndsay Himes had 30 service points, including six aces, and five kills for Hancock, which defeated St. Maria Goretti 25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Maureen Leavy tallied a team-high 13 kills and Tiffany Younker added 14 service points, three aces and nine assists for the Panthers (1-0).

JV: Hancock 25-17, 25-15.

Broadfording 3, Calvary 0

CRESAPTOWN, Md. -- Kelli Crider had 12 service points, including three aces, and 12 assists to lead Broadfording to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-23 sweep of Mason Dixon Christian Conference opponent Calvary Christian.

Ariana Litten added eight service points, seven digs and four kills for the Lions (4-1, 3-1), while Chelsea Foltz had seven digs and three kills and Sarah Couch had four kills.

Heritage 3, CVCS 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Kara Stamper led Heritage Academy with 16 service points, including seven aces, and six kills as the Eagles beat Cumberland Valley Christian 25-6, 25-11, 25-13 in the MDCC.

Callie Butts added nine service points and 20 assists for Heritage (4-0, 4-0), while Jessica Gaylor had 13 service points and Kathleen Kidd had seven digs.

Shalom 3, Faith 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Stacey Thrush had 13 service points, including six aces, eight kills and 17 digs to lead Shalom Christian to a 25-18, 25-17, 12-25, 21-25, 15-10 win over Faith Christian in the MDCC.

Kelsey Ebersole added 12 service points, eight aces, 18 assists and 14 digs, while Ashlyn Blank had eight kills and 24 digs and Holly Andreine had 22 digs and six kills for Shalom. Karlee Wise had 15 digs and Rebekah Mowen added 11 service points, including five aces, in the win.

JV: Shalom 25-20, 23-25, 25-14.

Mount Union 3, Southern Fulton 0

MOUNT UNION, Pa. -- Ashley Sigel and Kelsie Truax had four points and four kills each as Southern Fulton dropped its season opener 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 to Mount Union.

Masey Brown had five points for the Indians (0-1).

East Hardy 3, Berkeley Springs 0

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Erin Close had 11 service points, seven assists and two kills and McKenzie Ambrose added seven assists and three kills for Berkeley Springs, which lost 25-17, 25-18, 25-13 to East Hardy.

JV: East Hardy 25-20, 25-16.

UNION BRIDGE, Md. -- Brandon Rehdi, Brady Cook and Zach Condon each scored a goal for Francis Scott Key in its shutout of visiting Smithsburg.

The Leopards fall to 1-2 with the loss.

Walkersville 2, Williamsport 1

WILLIAMSPORT -- Jordan Payne opened scoring in the 70th minute with a goal on an assist from Connor Arnone for Williamsport, but Walkersville (1-0) rallied late to defeat the Wildcats.

Alex Aleshire recorded 12 saves for Williamsport (1-2).

JV: Williamsport 1-0.

Linganore 8, Boonsboro 0

IJAMSVILLE, Md. -- Paul Jordan had 12 saves in goal for Boonsboro (0-1).

JV: Linganore, 12-0.

Heritage 2, CVCS 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Chad Lowry and Josh Taggart had a first-half goal each to lead Heritage Academy to a Mason Dixon Christian Conference win.

Bryce Nigh and Mark Taggart each recorded an assist and Christian Strickler made four saves for the Eagles (3-1, 3-1).

Cody Kipe had nine saves in goal for CVCS.
