Church event planned Sunday

Christ Lutheran Church, at 216 N. Cleveland Ave., will hold Rodeo Rally Day on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The event will include prizes, games, face painting and crafts for children. Also, the Sunday school will provide several song selections for adult Sunday school members to enjoy.

A combined communion service will be at 10:15 a.m.. In place of the sermon, church member Kim Jones will do a monologue skit titled "Rocks."


After the service, a potluck meal will be held. The public is invited.

Ballroom dancing to be held Friday

Jim Powers will hold his ballroom dance party Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan Building. Admission costs $4 per person.

Pen Mar Park

Jay and the Jingos will perform Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pen Mar Park as the summer music series continues.

Spaghetti dinner set for Saturday

An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christ's Reformed United Church of Christ in Cavetown.

The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert.

Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for those ages 7 to 12. Those 6 and younger eat free. Carry-out orders will be available.

Sandwich sale to benefit charities

The Ladies of the Elks and Associateswill hold a country ham sandwich,city ham sandwich and apple dumpling sale.

City ham sandwiches cost $2.25 each; country ham sandwiches cost $2.75 and apple dumplings cost $2.50.

Deadline for orders is Monday, Sept. 27. Sandwiches and dumplings can be picked up Oct. 4.
