Suns lose in season finale

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Power rapped out 16 hits off three Hagerstown pitchers on their way to a 7-3 win over the Suns in their season finale Monday afternoon.

Elevys Gonzalez was 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Power (65-74, 34-35 second half). Evan Chambers added three hits and Rogelios Noris homered.

Paul Applebee (6-6) took the loss for the Suns (65-75, 29-41). He came on in the third inning for starter Sammy Solis and pitched four innings, allowing 11 hits and five earned runs.

Eury Perez, Rick Hague, J.P. Ramirez and Mills Rogers each had two hits for Hagerstown.

The Power took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, with Noris' two-run homer the big blow.

The Suns got one run back in the sixth when Hague hit a one-out triple and scored on Ramirez's base hit.

But the Power answered with two in the bottom of the frame on a pair of RBI singles.

Hague hit a two-run homer in the eighth for the Suns.
