HCC to offer workshop on 'Forensics and Virtual Autopsy'

Hagerstown Community College's Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering a forensics seminar as part of a series of continuing education workshops geared toward radiographers and medical imaging specialists.

"Forensics and Virtual Autopsy" will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Discussion topics include death scene investigation, body identification, virtual autopsy and forensic analysis. Speakers include John Getz, program manager for the U.S. Department of Defense Armed Forces Medical Examiners System in Rockville, Md., and Linda Altizer, a registered nurse forensic investigator for Washington County.

The workshop costs $35. WCHSYS medical imagers can attend for $15. Fee includes continental breakfast, continuing education credits, certificate of participation and handout materials. Four professional continuing education credits are available for radiographers.
