Six-time defending Washington County Public Schools Girls Soccer Tournament champion North Hagerstown will face Boonsboro in a rematch of last year's final, after the Hubs and Warriors won semifinal games at Mike Callas Stadium on Saturday night.

North defeated Williamsport 3-1 to earn a seventh straight trip to the county final. Boonsboro edged Clear Spring 1-0 on Ashlyn Hawbaker's goal.

The Hubs and Warriors will square off on Sept. 18 at Mike Callas Stadium in the final.

* Beth Wagner scored in the seventh minute and Katie Socks made it 2-0 in the 12th minute to give North the early edge. Morgan Grunberg added a third goal in the 49th minute on an assist by Corri Anderson.

The win continued the Hubs' nearly five-year long winning streak against county opponents, and coach Rick Aleshire knows the toll keeping the streak going is taking on his players.

"Every year's a different year, you never know what's going to happen," said Aleshire. "(The streak) puts a lot of pressure on these girls. They don't want to be the year that loses it. But they're a tough group and I know they can handle it."

Williamsport avoided a shutout when Amber Shumaker scored in the 59th minute.

* The Warriors earned a hard-fought victory over the Clear Spring when Hawbaker lasered a Kaylee Monniger cross into the left corner of the Blazers' goal.

Boonsboro coach Chris Lantz acknowledged his team's effort in the victory.

"We'll have to wait and see, but so far Clear Spring has been the biggest test for us," said Lantz.

The game wasn't the only loss for Clear Spring. Star midfielder Jessica Dice left the game in an ambulance with an apparent knee injury.

* Smithsburg shut out Hancock 5-0 in the fifth-place game. Rachel Poffenberger led the Leopards with four goals, and Alexis Andrukat added one.
