"Pepper" Harry Andrew Mills Sr., 64, of Martinsburg, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born May 14, 1946, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Frank Lee Mills Sr. and Virginia Mae (Shifflett) Mills.

He retired from General Motors after 39 years of service. After retirement, he drove a school bus for Berkeley County Schools.

He was a member of the Vanville Christian Church.

Pepper was a three-term governor of Martinsburg Lodge No. 120 Loyal Order of Moose, Red Men, UAW Retirees and the Blue Ridge Kiwanis.


He is survived by his wife of 29 years, "Lacey" Beverley (Rudisill) Mills; seven children, "Peppie" Harry A. Mills Jr. of Martinsburg, Nanette Gay Baumgardner of Clifton, Ga., Teresa Marie Berry of Hagerstown, Beverly J. Persinger-Massoni of New Fairfield, Conn., Racheal G. Persinger of Martinsburg, Stephanie M. Paytas of Mount Jackson, Va., and James Joseph F. Burrell of Slainesville, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Frank L. Mills Jr., James W. Mills, Craig L. Mills, Kirk D. Mills and Donald W. Albright, all of Martinsburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Jeff Phillis officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at South Berkeley Chapel with a memorial service by the Loyal Order of Moose at 7:30 p.m.
