'Reclaim the Dream' impresses conservative

To the editor:

My compliments to the Rev. Al Sharpton, and all those who worked with him to plan, schedule and staff the magnificent Saturday production "Reclaim the Dream" in Washington, D.C. They showed that Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream is still alive in America, and that the way to it is through hard work, and keeping the faith in yourself, and your fellow man.

I was enormously impressed by the evident family feeling among those on stage. This is the future of the American Dream. The people across town can rant and rave about the power of Jesus to save us all. I prefer to bet on Americans, black or white or Asian, and their dedication to their understanding of what America means to them and all of us.

By the way, I'm white, Republican, retired, conservative, and occasionally hopeful that we can solve our obvious national problems.
