Mrs. Clemma L. (Minnich) Cordell, 79, a resident of Quincy Village, and formerly of 526 S. Church St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, 2010, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.
Born Dec. 28, 1930, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Christian H. and Mary C. (Rossman) Minnich. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area and a resident of Quincy Village since June 2007.
Mrs. Cordell graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1948.
She and her husband of over 59 years, Fred E. Cordell, were married Jan. 19, 1951, in Hagerstown.
Mrs. Cordell was a switchboard operator for United Telephone Company and also for the State of Pennsylvania at South Mountain Restoration Center.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game, and a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1758, all of Waynesboro. She was also a member of South Mountain Fish and Game, South Mountain Fire Co. and the National AARP.
