September 02, 2010

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A train struck a car at a railroad crossing on Van Clevesville Road Wednesday night after the car became stuck there, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.

The driver of the 2002 Lexus S43 tried to turn the vehicle around at the railroad crossing near Good Drive and the car became stuck on the edge of a roadway between two train tracks, police said.

The driver of the Lexus, Ngoc Dung Ly, fled from the car when she saw the train coming, police said.

The train pushed the car about a half mile, police said.

CSX officials responded to inspect the train and tracks, police said.
