Class of 1965 plans reunion



The Clear Spring High class of 1965 will hold its 45th class reunion Saturday, Sept. 11, at the home of Ralph Lynn Weaver, starting at 2 p.m.

All class members are encouraged to attend for a day of sharing their lives and memories with friends.

A meal will be provided at 4 p.m.

Potpie dinner to be held Sept. 11



The Big Pool Community Civic Organization will hold an all-you-can-eat ham and chicken potpie dinner at the Big Pool Community Building on Tedrick Drive Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4 p.m. until sold out.

The menu includes slippery ham and chicken potpie, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, cake and drink. It will be eat in or take out.

Tickets cost $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for those younger than 12. Preschoolers eat for free.

All proceeds go toward the upkeep and improvements to the community building.

Also, the Fort Frederick Ruritan will hold a food drive to help the Clear Spring Area Food Bank. Please bring in canned goods to help support the food bank.

Class of 1978 to hold gathering



The Clear Spring High School Class of 1978 will gather for lunch Saturday, Sept. 11, at noon at the Clear Spring Park pavilion.

Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share, place settings and drinks.

No reservation is necessary and there is no charge.

Grange Hall plans annual community show



The annual community show, sponsored by WACOHU Grange at Huyetts Crossroads will be held Friday, Sept. 17, and Saturday, Sept. 18.

The Grange hall is at U.S. 40 and Md. 63.

Entries for exhibits are open to anyone who would like to enter.

Categories include vegetables, fruit, grain and seed, baked goods, needlework, handicraft, flowers, miscellaneous, hobby, quilts and photography.

There is a youth category and one for adults. Registration will be open to enter exhibits Thursday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sept. 17, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Judging will be Friday at 12:30 p.m.

There will also be a spaghetti supper Sept. 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and bingo from 6 to 8 p.m.

A chicken barbecue will be Saturday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. until sold out.

A flea market/yard sale will be Sept. 18, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An auction will be held at the close of the show Sept. 18, at 4 p.m.

Class of 1972 planning reunion



The Clear Spring High School class of 1972 will hold its annual class reunion Saturday, Sept. 11, at noon at the Clear Spring American Legion Auxiliary Building.

The main course, drinks, and place settings will be provided.

There is no cost for the reunion, but everyone is asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Luncheon planned at church Sept. 11



Women 4 Worship is having a soup, sandwich, and bake stand Saturday, Sept. 11, at Park Head Fellowship Hall, (behind Park Head Methodist Church).

The food stand will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held indoors so it will go on rain or shine.

It will be eat in or carry out. There will also be yard sale items for sale.
