Boonsboro man killed in motorcycle accident

MYERSVILLE, Md. -- A Boonsboro man died Sunday morning after the motorcycle he was driving hit a fence and concrete culvert north of Myersville, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas Dixon Lawrence Jr., 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the accident, police said.

Lawrence was driving a 2006 Honda CBR 600RR south on Pleasant Walk Road around 1:45 a.m. Sunday when the sport bike left the road on the southbound shoulder, and hit a fence and concrete culvert, police said. The accident happened near Loy Wolfe Road. The two roads are just east of the Washington County-Frederick County line.
