MOUNT SAVAGE, Md. - Rosemarie Deffenbaugh, 44, of Mount Savage, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at her home.

Born Dec. 4, 1965, in Silver Spring, she was the daughter of the late Francis Brailer, Mary Jo Malloy Brailer and Bernadette Malloy.

Rosemarie spent her career working as an administrative assistant in the Washington, D.C. area. She was a 1983 graduate of Mount Savage High School and graduated from Allegany College. She was a Home Interiors consultant, enjoyed crafts and had a wonderful gift for home decorating.

Surviving are two sons, Brad Deffenbaugh and Owen Deffenbaugh; and one granddaughter, Paetyn Alice Hickey, all of Smithsburg; two sisters, Bernadette Morgan and husband Tom, Cumberland, and Margie Murphy and husband Jim, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three brothers, Frank Brailer and wife Marie, College Park, Bill Brailer and wife Debbie, LaVale, and Mike Brailer and wife Angie, Corriganville; former husband, Darren Deffenbaugh, Smithsburg; in-laws, Bob and Peggy Deffenbaugh, Short Gap, W.Va.; sister-in-law, Tracy Swarner and husband Marty, Frostburg; Michelle Merrill and husband Jason, Cresaptown; two aunts, Dena and Jim Malloy, Mount Savage, and Jan and Bill Malloy, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend, Steve Steele.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Hyndman Ministries Center on Friday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Steve Leydig Jr. officiating.

At Rosemarie's request, she was cremated. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) is handling the arrangements.
