August 27, 2010

Yale Drive

Yale Drive between Mount Aetna and Stanford roads will be closed from Monday to Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, according to the Washington County Division of Public Works.

The closing is for roadway construction related to the building of a primary school and roadway widening.

Road closing signs and detour signs will be posted at appropriate locations to redirect traffic with the least inconvenience.

The road will be accessible at all times for emergency vehicles.

North Locust Street

Work crews from Craig Paving Inc. will begin milling and repaving North Locust Street between Wayside and Fairground avenues, weather permitting, at 7 a.m. Monday. The work is expected to be completed, and the road reopened to traffic, by 5 p.m., according to the City of Hagerstown's Department of Parks and Engineering

At least one lane of traffic will remain open while the work is being performed, and emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the work zone.

Motorists approaching the work area should expect to encounter cones, barricades, flaggers and other traffic-control devices. On-street parking will be restricted in the work zone.

Terps Boulevard

Work crews from C. William Hetzer will be installing final surface pavement and pavement markings on Terps Boulevard between Md. 58 and Maugansville Road, weather permitting, beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, according to the developer of Collegiate Acres.

Terps Boulevard will be closed to traffic while the paving is under way. Motorists approaching the work area should expect to encounter cones, barricades and other traffic-control devices, and will be forced to detour around the work area.

The work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through Terps Boulevard while the work is being performed.
